TAU Golf Open

The TAU Golf Open is an annual signature event hosted by High Aspirations Foundation, Inc. TAU Golf Open takes place at one of the many golf courses in the metro Atlanta area. Participants can be players and/or fund raisers. We also provide several levels of sponsorship opportunities. The primary goal is to raise monies for scholarships and provide aid to HAFI Programs (Youth Development Initiative Program and Dr. Charles R. Drew Health Fair). HAFI is very appreciative for all sponsors and donors who give graciously to a cause that directly impact our communities.

College Prep 101

This event is geared to help High School students get a jump start on their college aspirations. College Prep 101 is not your normal college workshop. We take a bit further. We have sessions that are tailored around "If I knew THEN what I know NOW" type of information.

The following is a list of workshops provided during our College Prep 101 event:

- Financial Aid and Scholarships
- Breaking Down the College GPA System
- Career Pathfinders
- "It Can be About WHO You Know" - Networking and Interviews


Dr. Charles R. Drew Health Fair

Mission: Provide and Promote health awareness issues to individuals throughout the city of Atlanta: Diabetes, HIV/AIDS, Health Exams, and Youth Dental Screenings.

In recent years, HAFI has partnered with Butler Street YMCA and American Red Cross to host the Dr. Charles R. Drew Health Fair. The fair consists of many health vendors and professionals throughout the city of Atlanta who provide consultation to blood donors as well as individuals who are just seeking advice. Morehouse School of Medicine is of our dedicated vendors that offer health screenings (blood pressure check-ups and eye exams). In addition, the health fair service to our youth as well by providing Dental Screenings. These dental services were done by Dr. Wm. Kevin Dancy. All services provided for the Dr. Charles R. Drew Health Fair are NO CHARGE for all participants.

Spring Scholarship Extravaganza (SSE)

Spring Scholarship Extravaganza is an annual event hosted by High Aspirations Foundation, Inc. This event consist of live entertainment, sponsorship opportunities, silent auction, etc. The primary goal is to raise monies for scholarships and provide aid to HAFI Programs (Youth Development Initiative Program and Dr. Charles R. Drew Health Fair). HAFI is very appreciative for all sponsors and donors who give graciously to a cause that directly impact our communities.

Youth Initiative Mentoring Program

Mission: Bring positive male images and guidance to young males considered “at-risk” and in need of early intervention, and to boost academic performance, self esteem, and goal oriented actions.

Program Description: The Youth Initiative Mentoring Program is currently active with John F. Kennedy Middle School in Atlanta, GA . Pairing young men (6th, 7th, 8th Grades) identified by teachers, school administrators, and parents with positive male role models dedicated to guiding the youth through the program and beyond. Utilizing after school time, outings, and planned group activities, the participants will build relationships with the youth as mentors. Also, there is involvement of families to ensure that the participant is holding up his end of the bargain by behaving properly at home as well as school and within the program. Group Meetings are held once a month bringing together the entire group. There are two mentors per student. Other monthly activities include: Weekly onsite school visits; Outings (Art museums, professional sport events, etc…), Family partnerships, and Academic improvement session.
